Banco Plata, a Mexican fintech offering digital banking and lending services, raised $300M from Oaktree, Macquarie Group, Fasanara Capital, and Banco Covalto. The funding is part of a private credit facility of up to $500M that Nomura structured in late 2025.
The financing comes after Plata’s Series C round in April 2026.
Banco Plata will use the funds to expand its lending business and diversify its funding base through a mix of institutional debt, customer deposits, and equity.
Banco Plata reported 10% growth in its loan portfolio during the first quarter of 2026 and attracted nearly $213M in deposits during its first month as a bank.
