BeConfident raises $15.8M Series A

Brazilian edtech startup BeConfident raised $15.8M in a Series A round led by Prosus Ventures.

BeConfident focuses on conversational learning through AI tutors, allowing users to learn languages and skills through natural, everyday interactions. It initially launched on WhatsApp, reflecting how users in Latin America already communicate, and later expanded to BeConfident’s own app and voice-based channels.

The funds will be used to accelerate international growth, broaden distribution channels, and invest in advanced AI research through BeConfident Labs.

BeConfident is developing adaptive AI avatars, conversational tutors designed to scale personalized learning, and a marketplace that allows experts and creators to launch subject-specific AI avatars.

By the end of 2025, BeConfident reached 3 million users and 160,000 paying students across WhatsApp and its app. BeConfident reported more than $10 million in annual recurring revenue, achieved without venture capital during its early phase, and projects a fivefold revenue increase by 2026.
