Capria Ventures has announced a partnership with the VC firm Cometa, adding the company as the 7th fund manager from Latin America to its global network of 14 investing partners.

Cometa is a Mexico-based early-stage VC firm that is a pioneer at investing and supporting the next generation of technology entrepreneurs in the Spanish-speaking world. Capria has already invested in some of the region’s leading startups through Latin American investment management partners. For example, Capria has invested in Agrofy, Aprende Institute, Urbvan, and Kueski

The VC firm Cometa was founded in 2012 and has partnered with the founders of Bitso, Cabify, and Kueski. The company has invested in over 30 companies in the last decade, and the firm’s third fund, Cometa III, has a target fund size of $100M. Cometa focuses on software, and while over 60% of its portfolio companies are valued above $100M, 2 of them have already become unicorns.

Susana Garcia-Robles, Senior Partner at Capria Ventures, commented the following: “We have known Cometa for a while, and we are confident they will bring a rich investing experience to the Capria investment network. In the current market, so dynamic and full of attractive investment opportunities, the Cometa team understands the nuances of the market and knows who the best teams of local entrepreneurs are. Capria and Cometa share the mission to help businesses scale their solutions, highlighting the innovation coming from Latam. Cometa’s proven leadership and their track record of supporting founders reinforced our investment decision.”

Capria Ventures is a global venture capital firm committed to investing and impacting the lives of millions across the Global South, that is, in Southeast Asia, India, Latin America, and Africa. The company focuses on regional soonicorns – startups that will soon be unicorns thanks to their revenues and growth rates.
