Despegar partnered with crypto infrastructure provider Binance Pay and embedded financial technology startup Inswitch to offer crypto payments on its online travel marketplace.
“Following our mission to make traveling accessible for everyone, we are introducing new payment alternatives for our customers,” said Ines Hochstadter Berger Despegar’s Country Manager for Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador.
Despegar is a B2C online travel agency where people can book a wide range of products like airline tickets, travel packages, hotels, and vacation rentals. Binance Pay is a platform that allows users to send and receive cryptocurrencies worldwide.
According to Binance Pay’s General Manager for North Latin America, Daniel Acosta, this partnership is the next step in Binance’s mission to democratize crypto usage in LatAm.
The new payment alternative is available in Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia.
