Examedi raises $750K in a round led by Platanus

Chilean healthtech Examedi raised $750K in a round led by Platanus with participation from existing board members. As part of the transaction, General Catalyst exited its position in the startup.

Examedi provides at-home diagnostics services, handling the entire process from scheduling to delivering test results, through a digital platform that replaces the need for in-clinic visits.

Examedi will use the funds to enhance efficiency and grow in Mexico and Chile.

“This isn’t a business I expect to grow 300% every year. I expect it to grow 50–60% and be profitable. This new group of investors is more aligned with a lower-growth model. If growth later reaches 300%, great, but right now that’s not feasible. This is more like a private-equity-style company: attractive, efficient, and profitable,” said Examedi’s CEO Mariano Werner.

Founded in 2020, Examedi operates in Chile and Mexico.
