Brazilian startup BRLA Digital secured a $3M pre-seed round. Coins, a Filipino crypto exchange led by former CFO of Binance, Wei Zhou, and various angel investors participated in the round, including Rodrigo Benez, the founder of Brazil’s first stablecoin with SimpliPay.
BRLA Digital offers financial infrastructure and cross-border payment services for crypto-friendly companies pursuing opportunities in the Brazilian market.
This round will help BRLA Digital to develop its technology, add new features to its product, and grow its customer base. They plan to reach 30 clients by the end of 2024.
“Our primary goal is to assist global companies and exchanges in attracting Brazilian users through an affordable payment solution that is fully compliant with the law. We have a fully regulated operation integrated with the Brazilian banking system” explained Leandro Noel, Chief Strategy Officer of BRLA Digital.
In addition to its infrastructure, BRLA Digital created a stablecoin linked to the Brazilian real, called the BRLA Token. This token aims to offer a convenient, stable, and cost-effective option for the over 6 million crypto users in the country.
Founded in 2022 by Matheus Moura, BRLA Digital emerged as Brazil became a more prominent player in crypto, driven by its advanced and favorable regulatory framework in the country.
