Fintech Evertec acquired Zunify, the largest QR code payment network in Costa Rica. Under the agreement, Evertec will assume the client portfolio, financial permissions, and the license to use Zunify’s technology in Costa Rica.
With the acquisition, Evertec plans to strengthen its position in the Costa Rican digital payments market.
“Evertec’s experience and support will benefit our users through expanded and automated services, as well as greater integration with financial institutions and online retailers,” said Juan Monge, CEO of Zunify.
Zunify’s solution enables mobile payments at physical points of sale via QR codes, e-commerce stores, and remote payments.
Currently, 1300 stores currently sell through the Zunify app.
