Peruvian Veef raised a $320k pre-seed round. The round included experienced food-tech investors Ahimsa Foundation and Sustainable Food Ventures.
Peruvian Veef will use the funds to strengthen its position in the plant-based meat niche in Peru before expanding to Chile by 2025.
Peruvian Veef produces plant-based alternatives to meat products, and its vegan products are available online and in stores in Lima.
“Sustainable Food Ventures’s commitment to sustainable food and scalable companies resonates with our goal: to become the leading alternative protein company in Peru by 2024 and expand throughout Latin America, including Chile, Colombia, and Mexico,” said Karina Zegarra, founder, and CEO of Peruvian Veef.
Founded in 2020, Peruvian Veef has launched 12 products, including four different vegan burger options and a plant-based alternative to the traditional Peruvian dish anticuchos. The foodtech plans to raise $1M in a seed round in early 2026 to further expand to Colombia and Mexico.
