Portuguese sportstech Hoopers raised a $2.3M seed round led by Buenavista Equity Partners. Portugal Ventures, Neemias Queta, and Ticha Penicheiro also participated in the round.
Hoopers is a fan engagement platform that helps basketball teams and sports associations connect with fans through events, court revitalizations, a court finder platform, and exclusive experiences and products.
Hoopers will use the funds to develop new products and expand in Brazil, opening an office in Sao Paulo and hiring new people.
“We believe in the potential of artificial intelligence to create experiences that bring fans, athletes, and brands closer together. The money raised will allow us to connect basketball enthusiasts and sports organizations in an even more engaging and personalized way,” said André Sobral Costa, Hoopers’ founder and CEO.
Hoopers operates in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil.
