IDB Lab invests $1.5M in Aviva to expand financial access

IDB Lab invested $1.5M in venture debt in Mexican fintech Aviva. This is IDB Lab’s first venture debt deal in Latin America.

Founded in 2022, Aviva operates AI-powered kiosks that bring financial services to underserved communities in Mexico. Aviva offers paperless, conversational loan origination, enabling individuals to secure loans of up to $1,000 in under seven minutes.

The investment will support Aviva’s loan portfolio growth and expansion into new underserved regions. Aviva currently operates more than 70 kiosks and plans to reach 150 by the end of the year.
