Iniciador raises $6M to expand Pix modalities

Iniciador, a Brazilian payments-infrastructure fintech for Pix and Open Finance, raised $6M in a round led by Valor Capital with participation from big_bets, Alter Global, Actyus, and Norte Ventures

Iniciador enables major banks, licensed institutions, and digital platforms to launch new payment experiences without dealing with technical and regulatory complexity. It aims to boost adoption of new Pix options: Pix por Aproximação (tap-to-pay), Pix Inteligente, Pix Automático, and Pix por Biometria..

Iniciador will use the funds to invest in scalability, technology, expand its product portfolio, and begin targeting large banks.

Iniciador is among Brazil’s five largest payment initiators and is used by iFood, Stone, Nomad, Núclea, Magie, and Jota. Authorized by the Central Bank as an ITP, it accounts for 60% of Pix Automático ITPs and over 50% of biometric Pix authorizations, with approval rates above 95%.
