Inventa, a Brazil-based company, announced a $20 million Series A funding round, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Monashees. This comes after the company announced a $5.5 million seed funding round last year.

The platform offers small businesses a simple way to buy inventory through technology, data, and credit. To date, the platform offers over 7,000 products from 400 brands and has amassed more than 20,000 customers.

The company was founded in March 2021 by Marcos Salama, former Rappi executive; Fernando Carrasco, former Data Science expert at McKinsey; and Laura Camargo, a former investor at General Atlantic.

“Our B2B marketplace connects brands and small retailers to help them with assortment in areas of cosmetics, healthy food, and home decor. They can also see what is trending, which makes recommendations more useful” said Marcos Salama, CEO at Inventa

The funding will be invested in Inventa’s technology team and to build its sales and marketing teams. Salama expects to add another 400 people in the next few years. In addition, the company will focus on its technology development so that it can eventually offer a free software product for small suppliers and retailers.
