LatamList – Iporanga Ventures announced today an investment in Classpert, a global platform for comparison and search for online courses.
The venture capital firm led a $900K (R$5M) round which included the participation of Canary and two angel investors linked to education: Eduardo Wurzmann, founder of Ibmec, and Mário Pinheiro, founder of Estratégia Concursos.
Currently, the search engine offers information on more than 220K online courses in 10 languages.
With the investment, Classpert intends to expand its team of employees, make the platform more robust to receive new partners, and expand the services currently available, expecting to reach one million courses in 18 months.
“We created Classpert with a very ambitious idea, which was to be a global hub for online courses. We want to be the entry point for people looking to improve in their fields or even start a complete training. We have gathered from language courses to programming courses for audiences of different age groups and at different levels of education,” explained Felipe Jordão, CEO and co-founder of Classpert.
With less than two years in operation, the company is already a partner of major platforms in this education segment, such as Udemy, Coursera, and edX.
“Our meeting with Classpert started just before the pandemic, when the scenario was still different. We already liked the company in a regular market context, and the pandemic accelerated sales even more. We are very happy with the investment,” said Leonardo Teixeira, General Partner at Iporanga Ventures.
