LatAm List – Swedish Blue AB recently led a $2.82M investment round in Chile’s Karün, a startup that produces sunglasses from recycled materials. Along with Blue AB, other investors such as Ashurst and Luna also participated in this round.
The new investment will help Karün expand throughout the United States and Europe, as well as develop its brand, products, and marketing.
Karün was founded in Puerto Varas, Chile and currently has offices in Santiago and Sweden. The sunglasses are designed in Santiago and produced in Italy using fishing nets and cables rescued from the Chilean fishing industry.
