Kratos Gaming Network (KGeN), a decentralized network for gamers, raised $9.5M in a round led by Aptos Lab, with participation from. Polygon and Game7. The round brings KGeN’s total funding to $27M and values the company at $430M.
Unlike traditional models where game studios or platforms control and monetize the players’ data, KGeN’s decentralized network gives gamers ownership of their data. Powered by the Proof of Gamer (POG) engine and built on Web3 principles, KGeN enables data portability across platforms, monetization of gaming skills and profiles, and access to better-targeted marketing campaigns that benefit both players and developers.
“KGeN allows gamers to regain control of their digital identities in a market where they have no ownership of their data, setting a new standard for data management in the gaming industry,” said Mo Shaikh, CEO of Aptos Labs.
With the funds, KGen will expand its platform funtionalities to focus in providing monetization options for gamers.
KGen generates $12M in annualized revenue and has 10.8M users, with Brazil, India, and Nigeria as its principal markets.
