Mexican startup Rever raises US$2.25M from Sequoia Capital

LatAm ListSequoia Capital, the firm that invested in Apple, Google, YouTube, PayPal, and Whatsapp, has only made three investments in Latin America to date. The most recent round for Mexican startup Rever marks Sequoia’s first Mexican investment. Sequoia has previously invested in Colombia’s Rappi and Brazil’s Nubank.

Rever is a business intelligence software that helps promote internal innovation inside of corporations. The Mexican startup just raised US$2.25M from Sequoia Capital and Zetta Venture Partners. Sequoia backed the startup because of the passion and vision demonstrated by the founders, as well as their ability to achieve great results with very little capital to date.

“2.5 billion people in the world do not use any technology at work, and Rever looks to improve work conditions and boost talent through their platform. This tech will make a big difference in these people’s lives,” said Bryan Schreier, partner at Sequoia, in a press release for LAVCA.
