Mono, a Colombian neobank, recently announced its participation in the next Y Combinator cohort. The startup is attracting interest from a range of unicorn founders from across the globe.
Mono is a fintech that provides financial solutions for SMEs in Colombia. The platform aims to help businesses take their finances online for the ease of customers and company alike. Mono facilitates online payments with a 100% digital checkout, and also integrates with accounting software for better finance management.
âWe saw the financial problems SMEs experience with traditional banks firsthand through working with other companies in Colombia, Chile, and Mexico,â said SalomĂłn Zarruk, co-founder and CEO of Mono.
Mono previously raised an undisclosed funding round from Magma Partners, and is now attracting successful angel investors from across the globe.
The list includes Tom Blomfield, founder of Monzo, Adam French, founder of Scalable Capital, and Jamie Devlin, founder of Revolut, among others.
Mono is now receiving its first clients for the Cuentamono bank account and debit card. The fintech is working to develop its product and expand services to offer more products to customers.
