New SoftBank $100M fund invests in Lumu Technologies

LatamListSoftBank Group announced a new fund of $100M for technology startups. One of the first companies to receive funding is Lumu Technologies, a Colombian startup.

Lumu Technologies is a cyber security platform that helps businesses detect potential security breaches faster and deal with them in minutes. The startup is based in Colombia, but will now open additional offices in Miami.

The new fund is based out of SoftBank’s base in Miami, from which the $5B Latin American fund also operates. The fund aims to support technology businesses in the area and build the local startup community.

“We are excited to have this opportunity and to be able to provide companies in Miami and Florida with a local cyber security platform to protect their businesses,’ said Ricardo Villadiego, founder of Lumu Technologies.
