Nu Colombia partnered with Redeban to allow its users to send and receive instant, free transfers to and from Bancolombia, Davivienda, Nequi, Daviplata, and other digital wallets and banks in the network.

Redeban, one of Colombia’s largest payment networks, facilitates electronic transactions between banks, digital wallets, and financial institutions.

Users can register a Nu Key (@Nu Placa), phone number, email, or national ID as their unique payment identifier, eliminating the need to share long account numbers.

Nubank is rolling out this feature gradually throughout March, allowing customers to activate their payment keys in phases through the Nu app.

“Instant transfers remove barriers for customers and give them greater freedom to move their money as needed. We believe they represent the future of finance in Colombia,” said Santiago Matamoros, Director of Product at Nu Colombia.

Nu’s expansion into instant transfers comes ahead of the launch of Bre-B, Colombia’s Central Bank’s nationwide real-time payment system, set to become mandatory in September 2025.

While Bre-B will require all financial institutions to be interoperable, Nu’s partnership with Redeban allows users to move money instantly ahead of the Bre-B rollout.

Nubank expanded to Colombia in 2020, and reported 2.5M users in the country in 2025.
