Paytech Handy partners with Banco Itaú in Uruguay

As part of its digital inclusion strategy in Uruguay Itaú became a shareholder in Handy, with a 40% stake in the company.

This integration aims to bring banking opportunities to all businesses and merchants in the country. According to their announcement, electronic transactions currently constitute 48% of retail payments, totaling $16.8 million annually.

“In under two years since its launch, Handy has become the primary payment solution for over 20.000 businesses in the country. This partnership with Itaú will allow us to expand our range of financial products and other solutions for our customers,” said Martín Guerra, main shareholder of Handy and Director of Incapital.
