The Peruvian edtech Netzun has closed a $1.4M Pre-Series A round. Some of the investors in this round were Media for Equity and GrupoRPP.
Netzun was founded in 2016 by Juan Carlos Solidoro and Miguel Romero. Initially, the startup connected companies to university students looking for internships and first jobs. In 2018, Netzun’s founders decided to pivot to a virtual education model.
The edtech’s mission is to democratize education in Latin America. Therefore, it offers affordable prices to students: they can have full access to Netzun’s catalog of +500 courses and +40 specializations starting at $3 per month. This fee also includes co-certification with Netzun’s partner universities.
“We currently have more than 600,000 registered users from more than 20 countries, and we have trained more than 200 companies in Peru, Colombia, and Bolivia. The best is yet to come, as we will soon launch a unique and innovative product in the e-learning sector,” said Juan Carlos Solidoro, CEO and founder of the startup.
According to Francisco Navarro, Head of New Ventures at GrupoRPP, Netzun helps its users develop the key skills that companies are looking for today and helps them develop their careers.
Some of Netzun’s clients include Alicorp, AJE, Marriott, CIVA, BCP, Molitalia, Backus and Jockey Plaza.
