Chilean fintech Shinkansen closed an investment from Krealo, the Corporate Venture Capital arm of the Peruvian group Credicorp.
As part of the investment , Krealo will connect Shinkansen with the holding companyâs bank, Banco de CrĂ©dito del PerĂș, enabling the fintech to leverage the bankâs reach and distribution in Peru.
Shinkansen automates business-to-business and bank-to-business transactions through an API integration
âShinkansenâs business model is regulator-friendly; we donât handle money flow, we provide traceability,â said Francisco LarraĂn, Shinkansenâs Co-founder.
This is Krealoâs first investment in 2024 and the tenth since the companyâs inception six years ago. Krealo has previously invested in Chilean startups Tenpo and Datamart, Colombian startups Tyba, Plurall, and Monokera, as well as Peruvian startups Culqui and Wally.
