Mexican healthtech Sofía raised $13.5M in a round led by Kfund, with participation from Index Ventures, Kaszek, and IDB Lab. The investment comes after a $19M Series A in 2020, bringing Sofía’s total funding to $37.5M.
Sofía offers health insurance and telemedicine for individuals, families, and SMEs through a network of 155 hospitals and 1,800 doctors across Mexico.
Sofía will use the funds to expand its reach among SMEs, develop integrated healthcare solutions, and incorporate AI to support medical care and telemedicine services.
“We want healthcare to be intuitive, easy, and stress-free—from preventive care to addressing serious health issues. Our vision is to scale this into a major pillar of healthcare in Mexico. It’s a big challenge, but we’re committed to making it happen,” said Arturo Sánchez Correa, CEO and Founder of Sofía.
Founded in 2018, Sofía currently serves over 1,000 SMEs in Mexico, with clients including Rappi and Clip.
