SoftBank Group announced a new $300M fund to invest in early-stage companies across Latin America.
The venture capital group backs some of the region’s largest companies, such as Rappi, Konfio, Loggi, and many more.
The announcement comes as SoftBank is preparing to launch its second fund for Latin America after the first $5B fund in 2019.
Rodrigo Baer and Marco Camhaji, formerly of Redpoint Ventures, joined SoftBank as partners to lead the new fund. SoftBank will focus on investing in seed to Series B companies, with tickets of up to $30M, as it seeks to broaden its investments portfolio and target Latam talent earlier on.
