Somos Internet raises $40M Series B

Colombian telecom startup Somos Internet raised a $40M Series B round co-led by Bracket Capital and Ribbit Capital. Union Square Ventures, Kaszek Ventures, Not Boring Capital, Zero Infinity Partners, and Y Combinator also participated in the round. The funding follows the Somos Internet’s Series A round in September 2025.

Founded by Forrest Heath, Somos Internet has grown into a leading infrastructure startup in Latin America. The company builds fiber networks using a proprietary architecture, FiberX, which delivers enterprise-grade connectivity at lower cost.

Somos Internet will use the funds to triple its coverage in Colombia and expand into Mexico. It also plans to strengthen its leadership team.

Somos Internet reached operational profitability in Medellín. It reports a customer payback period of 13 months, compared to an industry average of five years. As of March, Somos Internet had over 80,000 customers and added about 6,000 new users each month.
