Stanley Black & Decker acquires a stake in Argentina’s IguanaFix

LatAm List Stanley Black & Decker, a US industrial tools and household hardware provider acquired a stake in IguanaFix, an Argentine platform that provides on-demand services for homes and cars. The unspecified investment comes at a time of uncertainty for Argentina’s startup ecosystem.

“I don’t believe that investment in tech will dry up in Argentina,” said Matias Recchia, IguanaFix founder and CEO, in an interview with Reuters. “Argentine entrepreneurs have proven that they can adapt to an ever-changing economic environment and rapidly expand to other markets from here,” added Recchia.

Stanley Black & Decker’s stake in the company includes gaining distribution rights for IguanaFix’s technology, which currently operates in Brazil and Mexico.
