SunCompany, a renewable energy company that provides solar solutions, formerly known as SunColombia, raised $9.8M in a Series B round and $5M in debt from investors including Bancolombia and SEAF.
SunCompany will use the funds to develop solar farms for Bancolombia, hybrid projects in Colombia, and new initiatives in the Dominican Republic and Guyana. Part of the capital will also strengthen SunCompany’s technical and engineering team.
SunCompany employs 250 people and partners with Ecopetrol, ISA, Grupo Energía de Bogotá, Enel, EPM, and Emcali under framework contracts covering construction, operations, and in some cases, financing.
