Takenos, an Argentine digital wallet for stablecoin payments, raised a $5M seed round co-led by Variant and Lattice, with participation from Reverie, North Island Ventures, Refract VC, Gumi Cryptos Capital, Nascent, and Polaris. Angel investors included Chuk Okpalugo and Ivan Soto-Wrighty. The round follows a $500K pre-seed investment.
Takenos offers a wallet that enables users across Latin America to spend, save, invest, and transfer money seamlessly across currencies and countries.
The funding will support team expansion, product development, and infrastructure improvements. Takenos also plans to strengthen its presence in Argentina and Bolivia and expand into new Latin American markets.
Founded in 2022 by Francisco Goulu, Joaquín Herrera, Simón Bouché, and Lucas Posada, Takenos has processed over $500M in transactions and partners with Mastercard, Visa, Fireblocks, Bridge, Rain, Coinflow, and others.
