The Argentinian tech academy HENRY announced it raised $10M in a Series A round co-led by Kayyak Ventures and Seaya & Cathay. Other participants were Amarena, DILA Capital, Eduardo Della Maggiora (Betterfly), Accion Venture Lab, Tim Draper, and Matias Woloski (Auth0), among others.

HENRY is a 100% online academy that invests in people, allowing them to access high-quality education and training in technology careers and job opportunities. Students can learn Full Stack Development and Data Science. More than 90% of HENRY’s graduates get a job in technology within six months and, on average, multiply their salaries four times after graduating. Students pay only after graduating from the course.

The startup’s mission is to accelerate and boost inclusion and social mobility in Latin America by connecting people to good-paying jobs. Companies globally are searching for tech talent at an unprecedented rate, but the traditional education system is still not aligned with the knowledge industry. The result is a workforce that cannot meet the demand for tech talent.

“We seek to reach every corner of the region with an inclusive, high quality, and accessible proposal that is within everyone’s reach. We want everyone to have the opportunity to have a career in technology and change their reality by accessing a better quality of life,” said Luz Borchardt, co-founder of Henry.

Within five months, students can learn some of the most demanded skills, disciplines, and programming languages. To this date, more than 5000 students have gone through HENRY’s program.

The startup will use the funding to expand its platform, add more talent to its team and continue investing in thousands of Latin Americans.

“By 2025, we want to scale up the current model and train 100,000 programmers, with a special focus on two very important markets for us: Mexico and Colombia,” said Luz Borchardt.
