Chile-based TrainFES, a pioneer startup in neuro and remote rehab, closed a $1.4 million seed round led by Amarena and Invexor. Since 2013, the startup has advanced in the development of medical technology for neurological diseases to provide users with better access to rehabilitation through the use of technology.
TrainFES has also built alliances with pioneers in the neurorehab practice, such as UIC, Emory University, Spaulding and other leaders in the neurorehab research. This will help the startup to obtain a certificate for FDA compliance.
According to Matias Hosiasson, cofounder of TrainFES, this founding round will enable them to expand their solutions into the US market and increase the size of the development team.
The telerehab startup raised their pre-seed round in late 2019, where Invexor led a $1.3 million to support Trainfes to endeavor into the global market. Since then they have rehabilitated more than 3,000 patients. TrainFES is present with its technology in more than 50 hospitals, clinics and the Teletón Foundation, where over 30,000 patients can benefit from the technology.
