Edtech Crehana acquires talent management startup Acsendo

The Peruvian edtech Crehana announced it has acquired the talent management startup Acsendo. This deal is part of Crehana’s strategy to strengthen their Crehana for Business segment and increase their number of corporate clients to 3500.

The edtech Crehana is an online education platform that offers Spanish speakers a wide variety of courses ranging from business to design. The company also provides a portal for corporate training and development. On the other side, Ascendo is a Colombian firm that developed a software for companies to measure and analyze their working environment. Their technology also helps determine the level of commitment and performance of employees.

According to Diego Olcese, Crehana’s co-founder and CEO, the purchase of all of Acsendo’s shares is part of the company’s plan to expand its skills development business for corporate employees:

“The purchase of Acsendo will greatly strengthen Crehana’s product. [It will allow us to] offer a more complete solution for the companies we work with today,” Olcese said.

Olcese also estimates that the Crehana for Business segment will grow 500% in 2022 over the previous year. Although the deal size was not shared, the acquisition was made with the funds raised from their $70M series B round that was closed last August.
