TripWip raises $4.2M seed round

Uruguayan peer-to-peer carsharing startup TripWip raised a $4.2M seed round. The round included Latin Leap, CrossBoundary, Yango Ventures, Promotora Social de México, and Satrack Ventures, as well as OEMs linked to Toyota and Kia, and founders and operators from Kavak, dLocal, Uber, PedidosYa, and Rappi.

Founded in 2023 by Juan Manuel Pancic and Juan Andrés Vico, TripWip operates a digital marketplace that connects private car owners with renters through a fully digital platform. TripWip partners with Sancor in Uruguay, Rus Seguros in Argentina, and AXA in Mexico to provide insurance coverage for every rental.

TripWip will use the funding to expand into Monterrey, Los Cabos, Mendoza, and Bariloche while investing in marketing, technology, and AI. TripWip aims to increase activity sixfold over the next 24 months while strengthening its presence in its existing markets.

TripWip has more than 150,000 registered users, over 3,000 listed vehicles, and has facilitated more than 60,000 rental days across Uruguay, Argentina, and Mexico. TripWip says it has grown fourfold year over year and employs 20 people.
