LatAm List – dLocal, an Uruguayan company that specializes in cross-border payments for emerging markets, recently announced a partnership with Canadian e-commerce company Shopify.
This partnership allows international e-commerce merchants to accept local payment methods in emerging markets through dLocal’s payment processing network. With dLocal, merchants can bypass the typically time-consuming setup through a payment gateway and gain real-time syncing and business management capabilities.
“We are honored to join the Shopify ecosystem, which now consists of over one million businesses in more than 175 countries. Shopify has empowered independent business owners to achieve economic prosperity, and we look forward to helping those businesses further expand their reach into high-growth markets,” said Rodrigo Sánchez Prandi, VP Product at dLocal.
Shopify customers can start accepting local payments methods in local currency in any of dLocal’s 19 emerging market countries in Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, which include Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Paraguay, Peru, South Africa, Turkey, and Uruguay.
