Visa and the Colombian HR technology startup Ontop have partnered to launch a new global wallet for remote workers.
Ontop is a startup that offers a payroll software for companies to hire and pay anyone in the world while being compliant to international tax and labor laws. Especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of employees working in remote locations has increased significantly and will continue to do so. Startups like Ontop provide answers for companies that want to hire workers regardless of where they are in the world.
This is why Visa partnered with Ontop to provide a card designed to enable remote workers to save and use their money that works anywhere were Visa cards are accepted:
“Our alliance with Visa will allow employees to not only work from anywhere, but to have full control over their money, how they use it and where, regardless of where they are now or in the future, while exploring Visa’s digital solutions that offer the ability to transfer money between countries at incredible speed,” said Thomas McAllister, Ontop’s director of fintech.
This Visa card will also provide a wide range of benefits and perks designed for remote workers’ needs.
Juan Andres Mendoza, head of fintech for Visa Latin America and the Caribbean, also added:
“In this new model of the future of work, payments are central, and that’s why we partnered with a visionary Latin American and Caribbean fintech like Ontop to help them develop this infrastructure to enable remote workers around the world to receive payments quickly and securely.”
