Argentine startup Whalemate raised a $1M funding round led by Parceiro Ventures.
Founded by Federico Joel Hombre and Mateo Bovio, Whalemate offers a SaaS solution to train employees against digital threats like phishing. Whalemate’s platform sends employees personalized attack simulations and provides metrics on their responses, helping organizations better manage human risk. Whalemate adapts its model to the local regulations and cultural contexts of each country, a key differentiator from more generic platforms.
Whalemate will use the funds to scale its platform in Latin America, with a strategic focus on the Peruvian market.
Whalemate already works with clients including Mercado Libre, Rappi, and Banco Agrario. The platform helps these clients reduce operational risks, security breaches, and costs on cyber insurance policies.
