Wheel the World closed a $6M Pre-Series A round led by Kayak Ventures, with participation from Detroit Venture Partners, REI Co-op Path Ahead Ventures, and Gillian Tans, among others.
Wheel the World is a travel company that provides accessible travel experiences for people with disabilities.
The company will use the money to establish new partnerships with destination management organisations to explore and discover new accessible travel options for people with disabilities. Wheel the World is setting its sights on reaching 12,000 travellers to book through its platform by December 2024.
Wheel the World offers more than 200 destinations, with some new group tours designed for groups of eight to ten people. As a result, the company has experienced a four-fold increase in the number of travelers booking through its platform in the past year compared to 2021, and 40% of customers have booked multiple trips.
