Xiaomi lands in Chile in time for holidays

LatAm List – The much-anticipated launch of Chinese tech company, Xiaomi, in Chile finally became a reality last week. The company develops low-cost tech gadgets like smartphones, smartwatches, and scooters. Their launch in Chile will include just three products for now: the Redmi S2, the Mi Band 3 y the Mi Electric Scooter.

The Redmi will land in Movistar and ABCDin stores, providing yet another affordable smartphone option for Latin American customers. The Mi Band is a Fitbit alternative that costs just CLP$29,990 (US$45), making it an accessible product for many Chilean customers.

Xiaomi already opened stores in Mexico and Colombia during 2017-2018, using these countries as a gateway into the rest of the region.
