Global accelerator program Y Combinator ranked 9 Latin American startups in its recently published 2022 Top Companies list.
The 2022 YC Top Companies list consists of private, public, and exited companies valued at $150M or more that have graduated from a Y Combinator program. The 2022 list features 267 startups from 20 different countries, with Chile and Brazil featured on the list for the first time.
Y Combinator ranks the startups by valuation or market cap as of February 2022. The startups from Latin America include:
#21 Rappi (Colombia) – The on-demand food delivery service and super-app.
#102 Frubana Inc (Mexico) – Online grocery and stockists store for restaurants in Latin America.
#143 Kovi (Brazil) – A car marketplace and ownership startup for ‘on-demand’ drivers.
#160 Nowports (Mexico) – Logitech reinventing the international supply-chain for stockists in Latin America.
#172 Platzi (Colombia) – An online learning platform for marketing, programming, business, design and technology professionals.
#180 Fondeadora (Mexico) – A digital bank serving Mexico’s underbanked population.
#227 Fintual (Chile) – An assets management platform.
#231 Houm (Chile) – All-in-one real estate marketplace for Latin America.
#255 Belvo (Mexico) – Open finance API platform for Latin America.
28% of the startups on Y Combinator’s 2022 Top Companies list operate outside the US. Y Combinator reports that 99 new companies joined the list since the last update in July 2021.
