Agritech F4F raises $4.5M funding round for insect protein production

LatamListF4F (Food for the Future), a Chilean agritech, raised a $4.5M funding round led by Kayyak Ventures

F4F is a Chilean startup using high-quality insect protein to produce animal feed. The startup was founded with the aim of producing a sustainable way to meet the world’s growing demand for protein.

With high-quality insect farming technology, F4F transforms large amounts of waste into products of high nutritional and functional value. It is considered the most sustainable protein source available. F4F is already serving the salmon, poultry, swine, and pet industries.

“Increasing demand, high costs and prices, limited current production capacity and legislation are the main factors limiting the growth of insect proteins. This funding will allow us to grow on a larger scale and be able to approach different industries that dare to incorporate insect protein,” said Cristián Emhart, CEO of F4F.

Insect farming is not only sustainable thanks to the recycling of nutrients from organic waste, but also produces incredibly high quality protein. There are ongoing studies looking at the application of insect proteins in the human food industry.

The new funding will enable the company to continue to scale its protein production and to enter new business lines.

  1. Animal feed especially pautly is very high and expensive in Malawi.
We farmers we do buy a bag of feed at a very expensive price hence the feed becomes of poor quality and delivers poor results.
