LatamList – Aflore, a Colombian fintech, raised a $6.6M pre-Series B funding round led by Women’s World Banking Capital Partners II. Amador Holding, Unreasonable Capital, and Polymath Ventures also participated in the round.
Aflore is a financial service startup that aims to empower the underbanked in Colombia. The platform enables anyone who has good financial management skills or experience to become an advisor, helping their friends and family, in turn, to also manage their finances.
For Ana Barrera, co-founder and CEO of Alfore, the startup aims to “fill the gap between the rich and the poor, who are often overlooked” in Colombia. Of the 23,000 people who have joined the platform, 76% are women.
“We are looking for both investment and credit. This will help us to keep growing our business with improvement to our product and technology teams,” said Barrera
The funding round will enable the service to provide more loans for customers. The round is an addition the $10M invested by Accial Capital last year.
