Colegium acquires KidsBook to expand early education coverage

Chilean learning platform Colegium acquired preschool edtech KidsBook for an undisclosed amount.

KidsBook offers communication tools for parents and early childhood educators, covering over 500 preschools in Chile. 

Colegium provides SaaS solutions for digitizing educational processes, serving over 1,000 institutions in Chile and operating in 14 countries across Latin America.

KidsBook’s team will join Colegium as part of the acquisition, and its solution will be integrated into Colegium’s unified platform, with plans to expand further into the early education segment.

“Everyone wants to build toward an exit now, but we love what we do, and most importantly, we do it well. We know how to operate and make a profit,” said Ariel Gringaus, co-founder and CEO of Colegium.

Founded in 2000, Colegium has remained bootstrapped and profitable since reaching breakeven in 2003, and its previous acquisitions include Pencil, GoSchool, and Radar Escolar.
