Latamlist – eBay, the global marketplace, announced a $108K (R$600K) initiative to help support small and medium-sized businesses in Brazil during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative is called “My Business 24/7 on eBay – Always available”, and is an acceleration program that will enable SMEs in Brazil to continue their business during the pandemic. Companies will be able to set up a selling platform on the site free of charge, therefore opening up sales to 174 million buyers across 190 markets globally.
“For eBay, Brazil is a priority market in the region due to its potential and the thousands of active sellers that currently export. Our business is based on connecting buyers and sellers around the world to create economic opportunities, and that is exactly what we must do now, more than ever,” said Xavier Aguirre, Senior Manager of Business Development at eBay Latin America.
The closure of borders across the globe negatively affected many SMEs. The initiative from eBay will help to reinstate global transactions, accelerate the transition to digital business, and support companies through the pandemic.
“My Business 24/7 on eBay” also offers development programs for larger companies, access to a personal manager, and training programs to learn how the platform works. Companies can fill out a registration form for the program here.
