The medtech Respira Labs announced they raised $2.8M in pre-seed and grant funding to revolutionize respiratory healthcare.
Respira Labs is a technology startup that specializes in respiratory care. The companyâs wearable chest piece uses acoustic resonance to assess lung function and identify changes in lung air volume. Monitoring these measurements is especially critical for COVID-19, COPD, and asthma patients.
âWe have the potential to help improve the lives of millions of people living with lung issues around the world,â said Dr Maria Artunduaga, the startupâs founder and CEO.
Dr. Artunduaga started developing respiratory care technology after her grandmother died from COPD symptoms.
The medtech company Respira Labs uses acoustic lung resonance analysis to assess respiratory health and provide an in-depth overview of a patientâs lung health.
âEarly detection is key and our technology will help people identify problems earlier to avoid dangerous and potentially life-threatening situations,â Artunduaga continued.
The medtech Respira Labs raised a $1M pre-seed funding round led by Zentynel Frontier Investments. VentureWell, Impact Assets, and various angel investors also contributed to the round. The additional $1.8M funding comes in the form of research grants from multiple organizations in healthcare.
The funding will allow the medtech to accelerate its product development and continue growing. The startup was also selected to participate in the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Centre.
