Mexican edtech startup, Yogome, raises US$26.9M Series B

Yogome calls itself the  “Netflix for children’s learning,” developing educational games for mobile devices. In a story originally reported by PulsoSocial, Yogome has raised a US$26.7M Series B round led by Exceed Capital Partners, with support from previous investors Seaya Ventures and Variv Capital, and a new investor, Insight Venture Partners.

Yogome serves children between the ages of four and ten with more than 2000 games in six languages on its platform. Since it was founded in 2011, Yogome has reached six million monthly active users across fifty countries, especially in the US, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

The investment served to buy out 25% of Mexican.VC’s share in the company, providing 30,000% returns on the original investment and providing 8x cash-on-cash returns on the fund.

Yogome, which already has offices in Mexico and the USA, will use the fund to expand its reach in Asia, focusing on China, Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea. They will also continue improving their content to become a world leader in early-childhood education.
