Nana Delivery, a Brazilian e-commerce and delivery app, raised $3.6M in pre-seed funding led by Canary Ventures and Maya Capital. The UK venture fund Presight also contributed to the round.
Nana Delivery is a grocery shopping platform that aims to provide a simple and affordable service to Brazilians. Customers can choose and order their groceries via the Nana app, and receive their products in just a few minutes.
The startup uses a network of dark stores to store products close to consumers, allowing exceptionally fast delivery.
“Today, people often have to choose between convenience and price to buy everyday products. With Nana, we show that there is no need to choose and that convenience is for everyone”, says Mariana Assis, co-founder of Nana Delivery.
Despite only launching last month of operations Nana is already covering 60% of the Belo Horizonte region, where it launched.
“Our mission is to make sure that people don’t waste any more time going to the supermarket, waiting at checkout lines, and carrying heavy bags home. It’s about having the convenience in an affordable and accessible way, with an exceptional experience”, says Gustavo Fino, CEO and co-founder of Nana.
The startup will use the funding to build its technology and also begin expanding operations across Brazil.
