Redpoint eVentures invests $12M in Brazil’s property rental platform Housi

LatAm ListHousi, the Brazilian property rental startup, raised R$50M (US$12.09M) in from Redpoint eVentures, Brazil’s first Silicon Valley-based venture capital fund.

Housi is a real estate platform that manages property rentals. The platform allows both short-term rentals, similar to Booking.com or Airbnb, and longer-term stays, as well. The startup also manages cleaning, refurbishments, and rent payments with the landlord.

The investment will allow Housi to expand into more cities in Brazil and to grow its platform, helping more Brazilians find housing online.

“We analyze around 200 companies for each investment. What makes a company stand out is if they are willing to learn and grow,” said Romer Rodrigues, Managing Director of Redpoint eVentures, before signing the Housi investment agreement.

Housi currently manages 5,000 properties across Brazil worth around R$3 billion (US$708 million).
