Satellites On Fire raises $2.7M

Satellites On Fire, an Argentinian climate technology company, raised $2.7M in a funding round led by Dalus Capital. Draper Associates, Vitamin C, Draper Cygnus VC, and other international investors also participated.

Satellites On Fire builds an AI-powered platform that detects forest fires in real time. It combines satellite data with tower cameras to identify fires, model their spread, and send alerts via WhatsApp, email, and SMS.

With the funds, Satellites On Fire will improve its AI models and expand into Mexico and Europe.

Satellites On Fire has compiled a database of fire detection technologies across 21 countries and four continents. The platform detects and alerts users up to 35 minutes faster than NASA’s system. It operates under a freemium model and has more than 55,000 active users in Latin America, including Forestal Argentina, Genneia, and Generation Forest Invest.
