Yerbo raises $455K for employee well-being support

Yerbo, a mental health startup, announced a $455K pre-seed funding round led by Newtopia Ventures. Various angel investors also participated in the round.

Yerbo is working to combat “burnout” for employees for major software companies across Latin America. Since its launch in 2020, the platform has helped 397 teams to support their employees with its well-being and mental health support tools, including Nubank.

The global pandemic resulted in increased workload and stress for many, and companies rapidly realized the importance of supporting their staff through this time.

Yerbo uses data to create actionable insights and recommendations that help teams care for their mental well-being in a new way. The platform integrates with Slack to connect directly with employees.

“Yerbo is bringing together software engineers and behavioural science professionals to build high impact, easy to use tools that help developers and managers avoid burnout and improve mental well-being with a data-driven approach that respects employee personal privacy,” said Marcos Spontón, co-founder and CEO.

Newtopia VC is a new Argentine venture capital fund focused on early-stage startups making an impact in the tech sector.

Yerbo is now operating in three countries with only 13 employees. The startup will use the funding to accelerate product development.
