LatamList – Descomplica, a Brazilian edutech, raised an $84M Series E funding round led by Invus Opportunities and SoftBank. Valor Capital, Peninsula, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Amadeus Capital, and David Howell Evens also participated in the round.
Descomplica is an online learning platform designed to prepare students for college entrance exams. Students can access complete learning resources with a monthly subscription of around $30 (R$150-200).
Brazil’s Ministry of Education approved four of the online courses, and the platform intends to increase this to 18 this year. Descomplica has over 5 million users each month.
The startup will use the funding to develop the platform’s technology, launch new features, and make various acquisitions to compliment the company’s portfolio.
